Benazir assasinated for PPP's victory

Doubting Thomas: Just a thought

Since Benazir had been assasinated and Al-Qaeda has taken responsibility for killing her, everyone will be expecting strongsupport from people of Pakistan and a fierce action from the againstAl-Qaeda.

Forget it. Nothing of this sort will happen.

Some action will be there but not against Al-Qaeda but against tribals supporting Al-Qaeda.

These tribals are innocent from heart and do not understand shrewd US politics. They get carried away in the name of religion. These tribals are factory of Jehadi's. Innocent muslim youths are influeced in the name of religion and Jehad. When they go out to kill they are given arms and ammunition. These arms and ammunition are bought from public money. Public money used to buy arms is a profitable proposition for arms maker and this expenditure can be justified in the name of defence. Most of these arms makers are from US. It is in the air that many US politicians and senior defence officers have stake in the arms factory.

This means more the arms are used, the more will be the business and more will be the profit.
Therefore most of the war politics is done by US.

Al-Qaeda has emerged as good friend of weapon mercenaries. It has given them the maximum busines.

(Have you ever given a thought who provides arms to Al-Qaeda after it snapped ties with US?)

Iraq war may be part of this poilitics. Israel and Palestine are already giving good business to weapon mercenaries. One more suchzone is being created in the central Asia and some part of SouthAsia.

Lets talk Pakistan..

Bhutto's assasination can be part of this politics. Since Bhutto had been assasinated, her husband Asif Zardari will be next PPP leader. He will win because of sympathy votes. It was looking difficult to convince masses to vote for Benazir and gain majority.

So what? This would not be in favour of Arms lobby in US.

Assasination of Benazir would have been part of a conspiracy which is often found embedded in US strategies.Musharraf had been trying to keep Nawaz Sharif away from election as he is being perceived anti-US. In case Benazir would have not died, there were fare chances of Nawaz Sharif getting on to the throne of PM.

Most people in Pakistan believe that Musharraf cowered in front of US pressure . They forget the ground reality that US has helped Pakistan to develop its economy. Though it was also part of US politics. Musharraf is sore in the eyes of Pakistani masses because he had swerved from the way Pakistan was being developed as orthodox Islamic state-A land for the Islam, by the Islam, from the Islam and full of Jehadi's.Pakistani Masses, especially radicalist, believe that Musharraf is trying to wipe out the radical groups. They believe that democracy they are looking for will be just to show the world. The leader leading such democracy will be puppet PM working on terms and condition laid down by Musharraf.

Musharraf and Benazir's deal was seen from the same angle by masses and radicalist. Though authenticity of deal is not known but it is said that it happened. Radical groups believe that US brokered this deal between Benazir and Musharraf. The radicalist saw some hope in Nawaz Sharif. Sharif's source of confidence is the feeling brewing among radicalist against US and Musharraf.

Even US policy makers sensed this - Victory for Nawaz Sharif because of anti-US sentiments .

So what next? How to stop him?(Just a thought)

KILL BENAZIR. This will help in generating sympathy vote for Asif Zardari.

The same has happened. It is evident in speech this morning's speech of Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif. US also needs substitute of Musharraf. Elections will take place in Pakistan. The dates may defer for couple ofmonths but it will take place. But sooner it would be , better itwill be.

After this election there will be war in the North West Frontier Region as it is the part which had not been under control of government of Pakistan and thus not in control of US. This war will be in the name of Benazir with support from masses.

"Are Sting Operations justified?"

Should Criminal be only caught after crime is done? What kind of documents help in traping mastermind?

"A Chief Minister (CM) of North-Indian state had been caught red handed on camera while propositioning female applicants for the post of medical officer. A TV news channel conducted a sting operation and exposed the CM while doing this to a number of applicants. The applicants were in the waiting list. The first list of selected candidates is already out."- Suppose this is a true story that has appeared in a national daily.

This is an example to explain importance of sting operation- an operation done to expose hidden anti-social elements and their activity in front of public. Sting operation plays crucial role in exposing this kind of cases.
In this case the sting operation helped in exposing CM as he would have neither done this in broad day light nor in front of news channel's camera.

It would sound very ideal to suggest that the victims should have gone to police station to lodge a complaint and should wait for courts verdict before arriving at any conclusion. But absolute power corrupts absolutely. The record of police in registering complaint had been dubious at times. Even if the complaint would have been registered, the next step would have been to prove the charge against CM.

The crucial point here is that what is the evidence that plaintiffs have against CM? The CM has just propositioned orally not in writing. According to section 22A of Indian Evidence Act, court does neither easily accept electronic recorded voice nor video of accused. Therefore, it would not have been easy for the plaintiff or plaintiffs to prove the charges.

The slow court proceedings in India are another matter of concern which stretches the period of victim's agony. Being on such a powerful position, a corrupt CM can easily manage to manipulate state law enforcement agencies. Also possibility of victim and witnesses being harassed cannot be ruled out thus breaking down the moral of witnesses to stand by the victim. Jessica Lal's murder trial is example of the same ilk. Recent sting operation by Harinder Baweja of Tehelka on 26 th September supports this hypothesis.

There can be a possibility that CM may have sexually exploited some of selected candidates of first list. This can be put into domain of private life by saying that it was mutual consent but still it cannot be justified .The CM has no right to use public tool for personal interest which he may have done to lure the candidates.
A doctor's responsibility is to cure and save life of patients. Less talented doctor can be hazardous for patient's life.

The number witnesses for and against CM can be highly influential over courts decision.
There can be 10 in favour and just one against him. At the end there are fair chances that this pseudo CM may walk free of charges.

Sting operation done here was to bring the malpractice of CM in light and help public take a better decision at the time of election.

However, it is not only journalist who conducts sting operation. It can be any intelligence agency, a law enforcement agency, licensed detective agency or an individual.

Like in the mid 1970s, a sting operation was conducted by Vasant Seth, owner of the biggest shipping company of that time in India. He was asked for bribe by a minister Chand Ram.
Seth recorded the conversation between him and the minister in a tiny tape recorder and presented to then Prime Minister Morarji Desai. PM Desai refused to listen to the tape and instead questioned Seth"Do you think you are Raja Harishchandra?"
Seth then gave this tape to Khushwant Singh who handed over this tape to Sanjay Gandhi.

In India there are no laws to regulate sting operation but in US there are strict ground rules and court rulings for sting operation. An individual cannot conduct sting operation in US. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is authorised to conduct sting operation there. But if we look at ground rules of US which mentions that sting operation can only be mounted against persons against whom some evidence of criminality already exists.

If we follow such rule then the sting operation in the case of CM in above example will be considered illegal. Such rule will create enough space for predator of his type to walk free.

"As individuals, we feel slighted by those who are more powerful than us but there is no institutional redress. Hence we get great satisfaction in seeing powerful exposed,"quote of sociologist Dipankar Gupta in a February, 2006 issue of Outlook. In the same issue Rajya Sabha MP Chnadan Mitra alleged that some TV channels whet libidinous appetite of some people but and conduct sting operation to raise their TRPs. But the question here lies is that is it not crime what the channels have shown? If it is not then there is no need for a person against whom sting operation had been conducted.

Take another example of Jharkhand IG PS Natarjan who was exposed in August 2005 on Star News and later suspended for forcing tribal women having sex with him. Was there any criminal evidence against him before this sting operation?
Number of cases caught on hidden camera by Tehelka and others has created terror among those who use to feel free while indulging into unlawful practices.

In a column written by Khushwant Singh for Outlook, he has focussed on exposing prominent public figures who indulge in anti-social activity. But there are also many white collar criminals who are not prominent figures in the society.
In February 2004, Jamshed Khan of Tehelka exposed a psychiatrist Dr SK Gupta, a senior psychiatrist at the Agra Mental Hospital. Gupta charged Rs 5000 for ruining lives of poor powerless married women by declaring normal women mentally-ill on the certificate. Gupta was later arrested and put behind bars.

Most of the sting operations have been within the precinct of responsible journalism.
Like Zaheera Sheikh bribery case , operation west wind by Tehelka, Ravi Sharma's 'Tihar Jail Bani Ghoos Mahal'and NDTV exposed Delhi cop demanding bribe for to hand over dead body of suicide victim, Star news showed Delhi doctors selling babies.

A journalist, who is representative of society, has to bring out everything with proper documentation as a proof in front of the society. He has to show and tell public about the things which they are not aware of. A journalist witnesses an event on behalf of society and thus it is his duty to show the society what he has seen in as much clear form as he can. His eyes cannot record the event. So with the help of technical eye that is camera a journalist presents actual scene in front of public.

Job of a journalist is also to make people aware of what is going on behind the clouds. Sting operation helps in doing so. Thus conducting sting operation is justified.

However there should be demarcation between public and private life of a person. Personal liberty is implicit in Article 21 of constitution. While conducting sting operation one should keep in mind that he / she should not enter in anyone's personal space.

Legal Crime

It may be confusing that how can a crime be legal? But to keep it simple and stupid- If you are caught, you are a criminal. If not, you are the best man. Even you can do it. Believe me it is happening. It is open secret for all. Over this, politics provide shelter to criminals and entry in to politics washes all the crimes. This has inspired many youths of the nation. But only master mind succeed. Let me present a case where I have one more sample of this format. I belong to a small district Basti of Uttar Pradesh. Crime is now sprouting up as successful industry in east UP. I call it successful because both thieves and cops share meal in this region. Let me tell you a case of a mastermind criminal who does all the crime but still remains at large. I will not reveal his name because I do not have proof for his crime but it is known to every one in his vicinity. A careful investigation can bring out the whole murk. In this article, I will name him X.
X is now bank cum consultant for cops. No don't think that he finances cops from his pocket but it is all black money of cops that he manages. This money is not only bribe but also cops share from money robbed by X's team. How!!!

Modus Operandi

Here is his modus operandi. X started his carrier in crime in nexus with notorious criminal of UP and Bihar region. After few years, he attached himself with a police sub-inspector. As it generally holds true that honesty is the worst policy for cops. This sub-inspector, assume him to be, also has itching in his hand to earn more. Further, this joint venture became successful. X took money from criminals to pass it on to Y to help criminals. X was given commission as part of it. Later on the many cops joined the club and X grew richer day by day. X not only earned good will both among criminals and cops. Later, on this joint venture developed new plans. Now they are in to dacoity, highway robbery and other such malpractices.
X has his gang of criminals. Few of his men go and rob at the pre-decided spot. Cops, being in the loop, move out of that area at the time of robbery. After the robbery is over, cops reach the spot and take charge of the situation. After some days, a man his arrested for robbery. This arrested man is part of the X’s team. His commission is pre-decided for his arrest. This arrested man never goes for robbery. When times come for identifying robbers, witnesses fail to identify arrested man. So he is set free and the case is finished. This is not where the things end. This boodle is distributed. There is something more to this. X’s gang is very well aware of income tax law. So boodle is then lended in to market at an interest rate. Borrowing money from X is far easier then from bank. Banks at small places do not even give education loans without bribe hence loans for other purpose is dream.X does not take any security but return of loan is guaranteed as it is cops money as well. The business that he started few years back is now giving more than a lakh per month. Now he is on his way to join politics. Now no question his arrest will ever arise. X has only studied till class three and today has income more than that of a good IIT alumni.Isn’t it aspiring one!!!

Moral of the story

Friend there is lots of money in legal crime like this. To support this you have a careless Indian government that now has majority of corrupt officers. Add to this, the government has corrupt politicians who just need their share in time. To facilitate your legal crime business, government has also made Income Tax department. This department gives legal stamp to all the black money by just taking a small fraction of it unofficially. IT officials also do not have much time to raid and find out all the people connected to culprit. There time is precious as they have to go and torcher business community and salaried personnel.
When you have this government backing, its futile to study hard, be honest and earn little with dignity. Look at tainted politicians, is there any one to check them for corruption? They are epitome and source of insipiration for white collar criminal. Time has come when you should not hesitate from being part of corrupt. You should be with majority in this world as what majority does is said right. Those days are very close when you will have a TAINTED PRESIDENT for the nation. Being corrupt is no more wrong. It all depends on your style of legitimizing your crime. Even country’s highest post is open for a CORRUPT!!! When you have this government backing, its futile to study hard, be honest and earn little with dignity. Look at tainted politicians, is there any one to check them for corruption? Can poison turn elixir for Congress

Finally, she has found tool for congress’ suicide but everyone says Sonia is shrewd politician and it is difficult to fathom her decision. She sacrificed post of Prime Minister, India’s most powerful position, in 2004 and became more powerful than a PM. She had full support of her cohorts and everyone in United Progressive alliance has accepted that Sonia will be next PM but at the last moment she stepped aside. BJP throughout the election had only one issue ‘PM of foreign origin’. It was left with no point to harp on after Sonia’s noble step. They became dumb. Sonia showed them that she can do what she wants and no one, especially BJP, can check her from doing what she intends to. I remember in the same Lok Sabha election of 2004 one of my elder brother’s friend, Sandeep Bhaiya was discussing with me over the speculations of election result. We both enjoy discussion especially on politics. He was trying to convince me to vote for BJP . His points included that congress had been involved in corruption and BJP regime has shown economic growth. He made general statement that there had never been PM from congress as revered and immaculate like Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said , “ Now congress wants a foreigner as PM. How can we as Indian allow any foreigner to rule our country?” To this I reminded him how BJP, the party he is favouring, has changed over time. From there Swadeshi movement to felicitating foreign investment, that to they are following policy of Manmohan Singh, a congress leader. This time they have again picked up issue of their swadeshi movement ilk and they will fail again if a foreigner rules well. Please note that Sonia is now an Indian and if you point out her foreign origin than I should put forward that rest all her party members and allies are of Indian origin. To his charges of corruption , I pointed out Tehelka’s expose and coffin scam. Two scam in just one regime. I told him that he has failed to convince me in favour of BJP. Over this I asked him that “Why should I vote for BJP when our former CM Rajnath Singh, who is prominent leader of BJP, can go to Maharasthra for election rallies and speak at length in favour of Shiv Sena and not a single sentence against Thackerey’s when they ask Maharashtrians publically to throw out UPites from Maharashtra?” (I am native of UP and at that time was studying in Pune) The debate ended because of shortage of time. We pushed off with his last statement, “BJP would have been lucky if it had Manmohan Singh on its side, the only diamond with Congress.” The point here is to show that how evangelical I had been for Congress in debates. But this time if Sandeep Bhaiya starts debate, he will be clear winner. I will have to give up even before discussion starts. Congress has made me looser by paving way for first ever tainted President of India. Still I hope that Sonia may again play her card at the last moment like she did in 2004 and win heart of the nations for Lok Sabha election of 2009. Here is what I dream of she might do: Tainted cabinet ministers, support to tainted Chief Minister and now tainted President. The word tainted at present has become adjective for congress choice in the politics. BJP recently said that it will complaint to election commission for tainted nominee in the presidential election. When BJP would have highlighted “Tainted” issue at its full extent then I expect a smart move from Sonia. She may stand at the last moment and say that: “NDA projects itself as an alliance which neither supports tainted leaders nor has any in it’s pool. Congress is ready to support Bhairo Singh Shekhawat for the post of president as N DA has problem with a tainted contestant. But this support will be rendered on only one condition. The condition would be that all party must agree and support bill that no tainted individual will be allowed to contest election till he or she is clear of blame.” Will It ever happen? 19th July will tell…..

UP election missing right verdict: Need online voting

Social engineering, better law an order and anti-incumbency factor are the reason contemplated for BSP win in this Uttar Pradesh assembly election.

I have noticed another reason for this assembly election result. An online voting system would have showed different result.

The mandate that has come up had been ignored by majority. There had been an average of 45 per cent voting across the state. This shows that 55 percent have ignored these election and they had been unable to cast their vote were, for one or the other reason.

There are two reason that I have observed for this low turnout of voters.

In the past years, many voters have migrated from their native place for the reason of meeting their basic needs. Youth have either left their hometown or state for the purpose of education and job. Parents who can afford their children education in other state don’t go for the second thought to let their child study midst goons and power cuts.

My IITian friend,Arun Chaubey belongs to a small village ,Sirsia of Siddhartnagar in east Uttar Pradesh but has never stayed there. His parents still stay there. There is no trace of electricity in his village. He did his primary education from neighbouring Basti district and then went to Rishikesh for his secondary education. After that he was in IIT, Kanpur and now he is in Gurgaon.

This assembly election he did not vote for basic reason that his company has no provision to grant leave to an employee who has to go for vote. If it did, there is no provision that voter will not be charged travel fare as he is going to vote.

But I took his view and his view differed from the scene that is in Uttar Pradesh. As the vote should be kept secret , I will only say that he did not wanted to vote for any of the candidate but still if he had to choose from the contesting parties he would have not voted for BSP . There may be many of this ilk who could not cast their vote and many are those who prefer to go for ‘none of these option’.

The mandate in Uttar Pradesh election does not include vote of many intellectuals and literate like Arun. Election Commission has not made any effort to gather the vote of immigrants.

Now lets take a look of those who were present in the town but did not go to vote. I will take my town Basti as a sample for this.

The elections were held in the summer when the mercury touched 40 degree celcius. There was no provision made by EC for shade, water or health allowance in case the voters fell sick. Thus from the past experience voters decided to stay at home for the two main reasons. One they did not wanted to trudge for the candidates who did not had any unique selling point like good educational qualification or renowned social worker. The other thing is that they showed no interest to vote for prominent congress leader Jagdambika Pal who has done cinch for the district and had been loser since Lok Sabha election of 2004.

The new face Jitendra Kumar of BSP emerged as winner for simple reason of cast politics, anti-incumbency factor against three times sitting MLA Jagdambika Pal and goonda raj that proliferated under SP government.

Thus in the case of Basti which saw around 20 per cent voting(I heard this figure, EC has not mentioned this figure till date), majority had ignored this election.

Had there been an online voting system, the election result would have been different. It would have included mandate of majority. I discussed it with my friend and all of them agreed. Those who did not considered it right solution, conceded to it after a brief discussion. The only doubt that had come up was related to security.

One of my friend asked “What is the solution in case the voters are threatened in their house and there is situation that goons have kept gun on their head and asking them to vote for their sponsors? The voter will log in to his account and do as the goon is asking them to do.”

We gave a thought to it and within minutes came up with solution similar to that in ATMs of US. For this the security can be in the password. Suppose his password is of 10 letters, he will just type eight of them and leave two. By this way he will be able to log in but his vote will not count. This in turn can raise alarm in cabins of election staff and security personnel. The tracing in this kind of situation will be easy for security personnel that to wander hither and thither in the constituency.

My point here is that if few of my friend can discussed for around 30 minutes and came up with provisional safe and convenient strategy for online voting .What is election commission doing from past 10-15 years to increase or check number of voters turnout?

If election commission gives a thought to it then it can collect mandate of 40 million literate Indians who use internet and have grown at the rate of 700 per cent since year 2000.

Hence, Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2007 were free from violence but not fair as it missed vote of majority.
